Want to use your streaming skills to win a trip to the land down under, raise money for an amazing cause, and meet your favorite creators from Australia and New Zealand? If so, we’ve got your hook up.
We’re teaming up with Sony Foundation Australia and Sony Interactive Entertainment Australia to give you the chance win a flight (with food and accommodations*) to Sydney and appear on Gaming4Life’s special charity stream. Gaming4Life, which kicks off on April 28 at 4:00 pm PDT / April 29 at 9 am AEST, is a fun-filled, 30-hour streaming event, which celebrates gaming and entertainment with the goal of helping young cancer patients via the Sony Foundation Australia’s You Can program. There’s also a PlayStation 4 20th Anniversary console up for grabs.
In 2010, Sony Foundation Australia set up You Can, a program that builds specialized youth cancer centers around Australia to address the low survival rate of patients aged 16–25. Since then, the You Can national fundraising campaign has opened several centers oriented for young people to undergo treatment with peers, attend counseling sessions, and, of course, play video games!
But there is still so much more to be done, and that is where you come in. Sony Foundation is looking for heroes to raise funds leading up to the Gaming4Life charity stream. Here is how to get involved:
Sign up via Tiltify and click “Register” on the Gaming4Life page to set up your own fundraiser campaign.
From now until April 16, simply stream on your Twitch channel in peak times and do whatever you can to raise the highest funds for Sony Foundation’s “You Can.” Tell your friends, family, and followers.
The competition closes on April 16 at 11:59pm PDT. The streamer who raises the most money gets the choice of either flying to Sydney to join some of Australia’s best streaming talent as a host of the Gaming4Life stream, or becoming the owner of a very special PlayStation 4 20th Anniversary console.
So what are you waiting for? Get fundraising and know that you are supporting an awesome cause. More information around the Gaming4Life charity stream will be posted on the PlayStation Blog later this month. Good luck!
