Grab your costumes and get ready for 7 days of Halloween on Twitch from October 27 - November 2! This year we’ve got a limited-time streaming category, unlockable spooky emotes and a creepy badge, surprise visits from Scary ModMother, and a Chat-controlled paranormal stream with /detune. See how you and your Chat can get involved.

The all new Fright Fest category
This year we’re making it easier to enjoy the spooky season together with a limited-time Fright Fest category. Get featured on the front page shelf where you can stream scary cosplay, horror games, spooky art, chilling cooking creations, costumes and other Halloween-y things to the new category.

Emotes and Badge Treats
Want to celebrate Halloween all year long? Unlock 3 haunted cat emotes when you use Stream Together or use Shared Chat for 5+ mins per session and any present viewers will receive the rewards.

The fun doesn’t stop there, you can also earn the limited-time Crypt Clipper badge by sharing the spookiest Clips you can find. Just download, export, or share a clip to social from Oct 27 - Nov 2 to unlock it.

Grab Some Goodies

FAQs

When will I receive my Crypt Clipper chat badge?
To unlock the badge, logged-in viewers will need to download, export, or share a link to a clip between Oct 27 - Nov 2. The badge will be delivered in the following few business days after unlocking it.

If you encounter issues with receiving your badge, please contact Twitch Support.

When will I receive my limited-time Cat emotes?
Emotes will be delivered to streamers who participate in at least 1 Stream Together or Shared Chat collaboration lasting for 5+ minutes and to viewers who watch / engage with the shared collaboration experience for at least 5 minutes.

All emotes will be attributed to you and your community members the following business day after unlocking it. If you encounter issues with receiving your emote(s), please contact Twitch Support.

When will I receive my Drop?
To be eligible for the Drop, you must watch any eligible Fortnite stream from Oct 31, 9AM PT through 23:59pm PT. You must watch for a minimum of 30 minutes. The game developer is responsible for fulfilling the Drop rewards in the game and in some cases, this may take time to process. Please contact Epic Games directly for any questions.

How does the Fright Fest shelf work?
The shelf uses an algorithm that shows viewers what they are most likely to click on based on their previous viewership. These appearances are not scheduled, so your channel may rotate in and out of this section at random any time you are live!

How do I check if I’m featured on the shelf?
You won’t be able to see yourself on the Recommendation Shelf whilst live, however you can check if you have been promoted on the Recommendation Shelf on Creator Dashboard > Analytics > Discovery > Views from Twitch > Homepage Recommendations and check Views + Impressions.

How can I be removed from the shelf?
Change from the Fright Fest category to another category to be removed from the shelf.

Guidelines + Safety
Being on the front page shelf might mean you experience more traffic than usual in your streams. To keep yourself and your community safe in the instance of an influx of new viewers, we recommend the following safety settings:

• AutoMod set to Level 2
• Email and phone chat verification turned on
• Followers only mode for at least 10 minutes
• Shield Mode setup (activate only when needed)

Please review your Content Classification Labels to disclose the content you’re streaming. You can find this setting in your “Edit Stream Info” page. You will still appear on the Recommendation Shelf - however remember, there are some categories and content we do not show on the Recommendation Shelf such as Pools, Hot Tubs, and Beaches & Gambling.
