What We’re Doing to Keep You Safe at TwitchCon
We’re heading to San Diego to mark 10 years (!) of TwitchCon and we’re excited to celebrate with you. TwitchCon is where our community comes together in person – to hang out and connect, and make the best memories. It’s a celebration of everything we’ve built together, and it’s the place to experience the best of Twitch, live.
We put a lot of care into TwitchCon planning each year, and a huge area of investment is event security. In the months leading up to TwitchCon, we build out systems and processes designed to ensure your safety, and the safety of those around you.
We recognize that, to have a good time at TwitchCon and truly enjoy the experience, you have to feel safe. We employ world-class teams and equipment, focused on protecting our attendees.
This year, as we do each year, we revisited and bolstered our security approach, building on a best-in-class foundation. Below is additional information about how we approach safety at TwitchCon. We’ve kept things high level on purpose. In order to protect attendees and the integrity of our safety operations, we can’t disclose specific details publicly.
The Venue
Robust security measures are in place throughout the venue, including screening procedures at all entry points and rigorous access control protocols. To find out more about what items are allowed at TwitchCon, please review our TwitchCon San Diego FAQ. These systems are designed to ensure that no prohibited items are brought into the venue, and that there are clear access control points throughout.
Our dedicated security team works in close partnership with the San Diego Police Department and other local law enforcement agencies to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
Command Center
We operate an always-on command center during the event, staffed by highly trained security teams. The command center allows us to monitor and protect the venue at scale, move quickly to address potential event issues, and dispatch personnel as needed during show hours. In the event of an after-hours emergency, we ask that individuals first call 911, before calling the 24/7 command center hotline.
Security personnel
Our security planning includes multiple layers of protection, with both visible and behind-the-scenes measures in place. While we don’t disclose some security details to maintain the integrity of our operations, attendees can expect to see armed and uniformed law enforcement presence and other security personnel throughout the venue, including plainclothes personnel.
Attendance Policies
Participants are required to comply with all events policies and standards. To purchase a ticket at TwitchCon, you must have an active Twitch account. Indefinitely suspended users cannot purchase a ticket, and we have processes in place to quickly identify persons attempting to evade our entry policies. During the event, individuals who are found to be out of compliance with our Events Code of Conduct will be removed from the venue and may be barred from participating in future Twitch events, including TwitchCon.
Always Evolving
We continuously evaluate and enhance our security protocols based on real-time information and best practices, and we work closely with attendees to accommodate additional security needs.
TwitchCon San Diego is for community and celebration. We’re focused on making this year’s event the best one yet.
