Supporting Streamers in Latin America
Twitch is a global community, and we are very proud to support streamers across the world in finding success on Twitch. We’ve recently made a number of strategic investments in Latin America. From the launch of our Spanish stream series ¡Vamos!, to increasing our presence at local events such as Gamescon, to supporting more streamer-led events, we’re building a comprehensive and inclusive support system for Latin American creators. Today I’m excited to share our next step in building a sustainable future for Twitch streamers in the region.
Updates to the Plus Program
We launched the Plus Program in 2023 to help inspire, grow, and sustain creators building their streaming careers on Twitch. The Plus Program offers two levels of enhanced subscription net revenue share rates for Affiliates and Partners who meet the eligibility criteria. Eligibility is based on “Plus Points” which are earned through recurring channel subscriptions. Since the Program launched we’ve continued to make it more accessible by opening it to Affiliates, moving from counting subs to counting Plus Points, and adding the “Level 1” 60/40 tier in addition to the “Level 2” 70/30 tier.
We regularly monitor representation to ensure we are helping streamers globally access the program. The data we have tells us that cultural nuances and economic realities in LATAM have made it difficult for creators of similar size to meet Plus program requirements compared to those in other regions. Given this, we see an opportunity to better support creators in LATAM by making higher revenue shares more accessible. That’s why starting June 1, 2025, we’re implementing region-specific qualification criteria that better reflects the unique economic and cultural landscape of LATAM streaming communities.
Under the new structure, LATAM streamers can qualify for:
- Level 1 (60/40 revenue share) with 50 Plus Points (down from 100) for three consecutive months
- Level 2 (70/30 revenue share) with 200 Plus Points (down from 300) for three consecutive months
Streamers who meet the criteria in March, April, and May will unlock twelve consecutive months of increased revenue share on June 1. Eligibility will be evaluated monthly, and streamers meeting the requirements for 3 consecutive months will unlock an enhanced revenue share.
The streaming landscape continues to evolve, and so do we. We remain committed to making more improvements that benefit our global creator community moving forward. We hope these changes will make building a vibrant community on Twitch possible for more Latin American streamers.
