Together For Good: Unite. Donate. Make a Difference.
The goodest time of the year is almost here! From December 3, 2024 to December 15, 2024, Twitch Together for Good is back, allowing streamers and their communities to come together by hosting charity streams that support their favorite causes.
From speedrunning retro games to staring contests with cats to letting chat take control of the stream (because what could possibly go wrong?), streamers have the freedom to create the type of charity stream that will bring their community together. For streamers interested in hosting a charity stream, choose a nonprofit organization to support by using Twitch’s charity tool or Tiltify, then include the #TogetherForGood tag in the stream title. And if you’re not hosting a charity stream, you can still play your part by donating!
So, start making plans now, because when we come together for charity on Twitch, you know it’s going to be good.
Here are some other Together for Good updates to help you get started:
Earn Badges While Doing Good
We’re introducing three different tiers of badges you can earn by donating $5 or more to any charity during Together For Good via the Twitch Charity tool. Whether you’re a first-time donor or an expert-level philanthropist, there’s a badge waiting for you. So show off your generosity and help inspire others to join the cause! Unique badges will be distributed to those who donate via the Twitch Charity tool at least $5, $25, or $50 cumulatively across all participating Twitch channels. Stay tuned for more updates on the badges!
Streamers, Get Ready to Shine
Calling all streamers! If you’re planning to participate in Together for Good, we’ve got great news for you – any streamer who uses the Twitch Charity Tool or includes the #TogetherForGood tag in their streams may be featured in a custom front-page shelf and collection page from December 3 to December 15. Participating won’t just be a chance to do good, it will be an opportunity to gain exposure, attract new viewers, and make an even bigger impact.
Collaborate and Innovate
To make the most of Together for Good, we encourage you to get creative with your charity streams. Come up with your biggest, wildest ideas, and use Drop-Ins and/or Shared Chat to collaborate with other streamers who are also supporting your chosen charity. By working together, you can create unforgettable moments that combine your audiences and help supercharge the amount of support you can earn for your charities of choice.
We’re Cheering You On
We’re here to support you every step of the way and celebrate the incredible generosity of our community during Together for Good. That’s why Twitch staff and ambassadors will be dropping in on streams to watch, cheer, and even donate to some of your chosen charities. Clip your favorite streamers’ best charity moments and share them with us on social media. Be sure to also post directly to TikTok or YouTube from Clips Manager—these platforms drive the most viewers back to your Twitch channel.
Stay Tuned for More
Keep an eye out for more news and updates as we get closer to this year’s Together for Good celebration. We’ve got some exciting things in store, and we can’t wait to share them with you. In the meantime, start planning your charity streams, spread the word, and get ready to make a difference!
We have the power to create positive change and support the causes that matter most. So let’s come Together for Good starting on December 3, and do just that.
FAQ
When will I receive my badge?
Badges will be delivered to viewers who donate at least $5 to any stream via the Twitch Charity tool from 12/3-12/15. Donations via tools that are not Twitch Charity will not be eligible for badges. Additional badges can be earned if a donor donates cumulative amounts of $25 and $50 cumulatively across all streams using the Twitch charity tool. Please allow for at least 72 hours for your badge to be awarded. Badges will not be awarded on the weekend. For information on how to see if you have received your badge and how to apply it, please click here. If 72 hours have elapsed and you have not received your badge, please contact Twitch Support.
How do the shelf and collection page work?
The shelf uses an algorithm that shows viewers what they are most likely to click on based on their previous viewership. These appearances are not scheduled, so your channel may rotate in and out of this section at random any time you are live!
How do I check if I’m featured on the shelf?
You won’t be able to see yourself on the Recommendation Shelf whilst live, however you can check if you have been promoted on the Recommendation Shelf on Creator Dashboard > Analytics > Discovery > Views from Twitch > Homepage Recommendations and check Views + Impressions.
Guidelines + Safety For Streamers
Before you go live, make sure to tag your stream with “TogetherForGood” to be included in the recommendation shelf! You can find more information on stream tags here.
Being on the front page shelf might mean you experience more traffic than usual in your streams. To keep yourself and your community safe in the instance of an influx of new viewers, we recommend the following safety settings:
- AutoMod set to Level 2
- Email and phone chat verification turned on
- Followers only mode for at least 10 minutes
- Shield Mode setup (activate only when needed)
Please review your Content Classification Labels to disclose the content you’re streaming. You can find this setting in your “Edit Stream Info” page. You will still appear on the Recommendation Shelf - however remember, there are some categories and content we do not show on the Recommendation Shelf such as Pools, Hot Tubs, and Beaches & Gambling.
Check out the Twitch Safety Center to learn more about how to keep your stream safe through community guidelines, reporting, moderation, and other information you may be interested in.
