What if you could easily find and purchase things that your streamers love and recommend while actually supporting them?
Introduced at PAX West, Gear on Amazon is a new tool that allows Twitch viewers to quickly and easily find the gear that their favorite streamers are using. Now, when you’re curious about which graphics card or gaming headset your favorite streamer recommends, you can check the panel area of the channel page for their gear list. If you buy any qualifying products from Amazon after clicking from your favorite streamers gear list, they’ll earn referral fees! Graphics cards are eligible; so are granola bars.
So next time you’re curious about which keyboard, headset, snack food, or pair of socks your favorite streamer recommends, look for Gear on Amazon on their channel page and find out! This is one more way we’re making it easier for you to support your favorite streamers.
Q. I’m a streamer. How do I sign up for this?
A. Gear on Amazon is available to Twitch Partners and Affiliates. Go to the tab in your dashboard labeled “Extension Manager”, scroll down to “Gear on Amazon” and follow the setup instructions there. The tool will walk you through setting up your Amazon Associates account if you don’t already have one. Check the help center for more information.
Q. I’m a broadcaster but I’m not a gamer, can I still use it?
A. Yes! As long as you are a Twitch Partner or Twitch Affiliate, you can totally use Gear on Amazon and become a part of the Amazon Associates Program regardless of your gaming status. You can promote any product you deem relevant for your audience. Some broadcasters promote their musical instruments, others share their photography equipment. Whether you are cooking, painting or working on a project, you can link to related products on Amazon and earn from qualifying purchases. Millions of products available on Amazon.com will be accessible from the dashboard.
Q. How does Gear on Amazon help support streamers?
A. Twitch Partners and Affiliates earn a commission for all qualifying purchases following a click on their gear list. To see a list of qualifying items and commission rates, click here.
Q. What is the revenue share for publishers and streamers?
A. Revenue share differs depending on the product category. See the complete list of advertising fees here.
Q. Will you share my purchases with the audience and the broadcaster?
A. Amazon does not share your personal information with either the broadcaster or the audience. The broadcaster only sees aggregated purchases.
