Twitch iOS 9 Multitasking Support Is Here!

Pop quiz. What would make any iPad app more interesting? If you answered ‘having Twitch open at the same time’, you would be correct. And now, our app has iOS 9 multitasking support baked in so you can do more of everything, all while watching Twitch.

Slide Over

Wanna look up speedrunning strategies or check Reddit without leaving Trihex’s broadcast? Just use the Slide Over mode to quickly move between the two apps.

Split View

With Split View you can divide your screen however you want and still use both apps. Live-tweeting a broadcast has never been easier.

Picture In Picture

Now you can pop out our video player and watch a broadcast even when you’re outside of our app. For example, you can play Hearthstone and watch it at the same time. It’s all very meta.

And Last But Not Least

In non-multitasking news, clicking a Twitch link anywhere on your iOS device will now seamlessly redirect you to the app instead of our mobile site (iOS 9 only).

We’ve also updated your Airplay options. If you’d like to use Airplay mode, please enable it from your device’s Control Center.
