Apex 2014 — Powered by Twitch

Twitch and Apex are proud to bring you Apex 2014 — powered by Twitch.

Apex is one of the strongest events in the world for the ever-growing Smash Bros community, and last year broke out as an incredibly well rounded Fighting Game Community (FGC) event as well. Twitch is excited to support an event which stays so true to its community roots, which is why it was a no brainer for us to officially sponsor Apex for the third year in a row.

When we asked the community how our sponsorship could be most effective this year, we quickly heard that several top players were having trouble raising funds to travel to Apex 2014. So, on top of our general sponsorship of Apex 2014 and in collaboration with the Apex organizers, together we subsidized the travel costs of three of the best players from the West Coast, who we’re proud to report are now able to attend Apex and increase the hype!

  • Zac Cordoni — Sfat

  • Kevin Toy — PewPew U

  • DaJuan Jefferson McDaniel — Shroomed

The Streams

There are four unique streams from Apex 2014. We created a handy team page so that you can find all four streams in one place.

  • Team Sp00ky is the main stream for Apex 2014 where you can catch all of the biggest action for Super Smash Bros. and FGC games alike. There will be some pool play along with finals for Super Smash Bros. 64, Melee, and Brawl singles events; all of Apex’s FGC events; and the Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 teams exhibition.

  • CLASHTournaments provides the Smash-centric stream for Apex 2014 with pool play for most events, and the finals for Project M, Melee Doubles, and Brawl Doubles. The Melee and Brawl crew battle exhibitions can also be found here, along with the Japanese simulcast of the Melee and Brawl finals on Sunday. The finals of the Pokemon VGC event will also be streamed here Saturday night.

  • 8WayRun hosts a showcase of various events at Apex 2014 balanced between Smash and FGC on Friday and Saturday. You can find pool play for multiple events here with games such as Smash 64, Melee, and Brawl. FGC side events will also be displayed here, along with the Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 tournament up until the finals.

  • Bifuteki provides all of the main FGC action at Apex 2014 across the entire weekend. This is where you can catch all of the action for FGC games on Friday and Saturday with games like Street Fighter, Tekken, BlazBlue, Injustice, and more!

  • VGBootCamp provides after hours exhibitions! Some age old rivalries, some dream match ups; all in all a late night show you won’t want to miss!
