Today we’d like to congratulate Electronic Sports League (ESL) and parent company Turtle Entertainment GmbH on their announcement of plans to acquire ESS Agency, as well as their plans to open a studio and offices in Los Angeles. ESL is synonymous with the highest level of gaming and is a premier Twitch content partner. Everything they do from grass roots leagues to top esports events, all paired with premium content, is top draw. We’ve enjoyed working with them for many years and long may that continue as they venture into North America.
“We’ve had a strong working relationship with Twitch for the last few years and as they have grown, we too have grown,” said Paul “ReDeYe” Chaloner, Head of Content and Media at ESL. “It’s not a stretch to say, without Twitch, esports would never have taken off to the degree it now has.”
At the Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco today, Twitch announced it has adopted Intel® Quick Sync Video technology as part of its software development kit. This is significant news for broadcasters since it greatly reduces use of the CPU and helps improve overall video quality when streaming in high definition.
