We’re teaming up with Sony Pictures for this first-of-its-kind event that gives teams of four an opportunity to play against CHAPPiE (the star of the upcoming film which is conveniently also named CHAPPiE). The movie starts March 6 and is directed by Neill Blomkamp of District 9 fame, so it’s definitely a must see.
Since Evolve is on everyone’s must play list, the two go together like [insert clever analogy instead of peanut butter and chocolate]. Kind of like peanut butter and chocolate [not feeling clever].
The CHAPPiE Challenge will feature Evolve and a bracket-style tournament with teams of four that can sign up today at CHAPPiEChallenge.com. The winner of the tournament will win $15,000 AND a chance to play against CHAPPiE in a live streamed Twitch event on March 1st.
Duracell presents the “Longest Lasting” tournament, a 26-hour non-stop Madden NFL 15 marathon hosted on Twitch.
Basically, Duracell has these awesome new rechargeable batteries. They’re going to put these batteries to the ultimate test by putting them into the game controllers used on the stage and NEVER CHANGING THEM for 26 hours. This show of power has us positively charged. (Hold for laughter.)
This tournament invites gamers like you to compete against “Team Duracell”, which will be comprised of NFL pros – such as Arian Foster (Houston Texans), Maurice Jones-Drew (Oakland Raiders), and Patrick Willis (San Francisco 49ers) – and eight pro gamers.
If there’s one thing we like to hear about, it’s Twitch community meetups. At PAX Australia 2014, there was a big meetup coordinated by the heavily bearded Gamersmack, an Aussie caster and Twitch partner.
Gamersmack rounded up around 20 Twitch community members for a Crocodile Dun-dinner (sorry for the Dun-dated pun-dee), so we sent Jon Carnage to keep them company. Because we were excited to see so many Twitch users come together, we brought some swag to add the right amount of purple to the group photo. #BleedPurple
Among those in attendance were: Kleetho, iNtense003, Straymav, Wyld, ExcessiveProfanity, Jimmyjojo7, Redshoes, Stephxx93, Jezzaheart, Paranormalpixel, Echick127, TextBookGaming, xxLanaa, Michaelbah, CaptAshBacon, Shyguysquid, and Reevesy_92.
With Halloween on the horizon, what better time than now to stream #killallzombies, a new horror game that launched today for PlayStation 4. It’s the latest in a growing list of games that utilize Twitch chat commands to affect gameplay.
Read all about the game and the dozens of different ways to use commands in Twitch chat on the PlayStation blog here.
If you see folks streaming the game, here are some cool commands you can unleash in chat: arena dongered, dealwithit, gieff death!, idkfa, dogwatch, wrong dongerhood, pewpewpewpew, raise your pitchforks!
I can’t tell you what they do, because then I would have to kill you (unless the command does that, which gets me off the hook). Also, each command requires a certain amount of mentions in chat before they come to life (or to death, if you use the right one). Are these play on words killing you? Well, if you play with some of these words, they might kill a zombie instead. Okay, I’m out of material, so go see if anyone is streaming it right now by visiting our #killallzombies directory.
As Twitch’s mobile presence continues to grow, today we are massively multi-pleased to announce that Order & Chaos Online is the first mobile MMORPG with Twitch Integration (or MMMORPGWTI for short-ish).
Thanks to a new update that just arrived for the iOS version of Order & Chaos Online, players can broadcast their gameplay directly to Twitch from their iOS devices. You can also interact with your viewers through built-in support for camera, microphone, and chat.
Beyond Twitch, the update brings iOS 8 support and a load of fresh content. This includes a new dungeon and bosses, the ability to transform the look of your armor, a new PvP arena with contested zones, and new unlockable wolf, bear and leopard mounts (oh my!).
The Twitch-enabled version of Order & Chaos Online is available for free on the App Store.
Two men enter, one man ragequit, or whatever someone does when they lose a live streamed Street Fighter competition. This Sunday, dance floor titans Steve Aoki and Borgore will face off in Capcom’s Ultra Street Fighter IV with the victor determined by the best of five matches.
Why are they doing this? According to the tale of the Tweet, Aoki called out Borgore to take him on in a fighting game, and we, of course, egged them both on to settle it on Twitch.
This showdown will be hosted by our own Mike Ross, partnership lead for Twitch’s fighting game community, as well as a veteran competitor, host, and commentator. Because Steve and Borgore are both stars in the EDM scene, Ross will be heavily focused on the event’s BPMs (beatings per minute).
Steve made his bones on Twitch with his live concert and the mesmerizing dance party emotes that took over his chat, while Borgore regularly showcases his love for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Both love music and both love games, but do they love each other? Only time will tell…and that time is listed below.
Date: Sunday, September 28th
Time: 12:00pm PT / 3:00pm ET

I recently watched the Hohokum trailer and thought to myself, “what the heck did I just see?!” Of course, I also said to myself, I have to see more. No, that’s not true. I needed to see more. If you’re thinking the same thing, then you are in luck.
Tonights live performances from the The Hohokum Music Spectacular will air live on PlayStation and Ghostly International‘s Twitch channels. This event showcases the convergence of music and gaming by celebrating this week’s launch of the PlayStation exclusive video game, Hohokum, and its soundtrack.
I’m a San Francisco Giants fan. I’m also a gamer, as are all of you (this is Twitch, after all). There used to be a time when gamers and sports fans were seen as two very distinct groups. But for those of us who watched MTV Cribs back in the ‘90’s, we know every athlete’s mansion and tour bus has an entertainment system rocking the latest console, so it’s clear this stereotype is long out of date.
We already announced many of the publishers and developers who are broadcasting to their Twitch channels during gamescom, but there will also five days of gaming goodness straight from our booth (#A-053g, Hall 9).
The following schedule – which is subject to change – details the bulk of our broadcasting schedule. Expect more to come and be sure to visit our gamescom portal to check out what is happening across multiple gamescom feeds: twitch.tv/event/gamescom.
